INTRODUCTION

With 72 million copies in print for the manga and 19.3 billion yen in revenue for the live-action movies, Rurouni Kenshin is a legendary masterpiece that has garnered fans of all ages from all over the world. The year 2023 saw the series come back to television as a completely renewed anime series with a new staff and cast. In July 2023, all 24 episodes of the first season aired on TV. The second season, -Kyoto Disturbance-, will air in October 2024.

Rurouni Kenshin was created by Nobuhiro Watsuki and serialized in WEEKLY JUMP in 1994. It joined as an anime series in 1996 for the first time and since then evolved into multiple formats such as OVAs and live-action movies. Rurouni Kenshin: The Hokkaido Arc is currently serialized in JUMP SQUARE.

Second season production sees Yuki Komada join the ranks (Assistant Director for Blade of the Immortal) as director – as there are many more fierce battles that need to come to life. Meanwhile, Hideyuki Kurata (Made in Abyss) comes back to take charge of the series composition.
