Kenshin and Misao arrive in Kyoto, where they’re welcomed by Okina, a grandfather figure to Misao whose real name is Nenji Kashiwazaki, in front of the restaurant Aoiya. Kenshin is surprised that Okina immediately figured out he’s a Battosai, but as it turns out, Okina is a former member of the Oniwaban Group. Kenshin accepts Okina’s offer to help by asking him to find someone. Meanwhile, Kaoru and Yahiko also arrive in Kyoto, where they see Aoshi in town.
